Crystal 's story

This is just a story to tell all the ladies out there about my experience.

I delivered a very healthy baby girl on September 24th, 2001. She weighrd 7lb 11oz. I had no signs of pre-eclampsia thorough my pregnancy. No high blood presure or protien in my urine.

It was on Sunday September 30th at 5:00 a.m. that I woke up blind. I could not see anything. My husband rushed my to the emergency room. Where there I started haveing siezures.

That was 6 days after her delivery. None of the doctors could figure out what was wrong. My blood pressure was 196/86. They ran every test under the sun on me and still didn't know what was wrong. They told my husband that it could not be eclampsia because that did not happen 6 days after delivery.

Well, it was 24 hours later that I woke up and could see just a little bit. But at that point for my husband and I that was better than nothing. I still only remember bits and pieces of Sunday. When I woke up on Monday morning I still thought it was Saturday. I was in I.C.U. for only three days but I now 3 weeks later finally feel like I am able to see fully.

That was the scariest thing I have ever been trough in my life.

I hope that evey person who reads this realizes that this is not to scare anyone but it can happen after dilvery don't let any doctor tell you different. Just watch for headaches, blured vision and high blood pressure.

Good Luck to all
